Ribbon Won’t Let Me Sell Smut

Hi Kim,

I have to inform you that you are not permitted to sell “Buy Me, Please” using Ribbon. We do not permit the type of content that you are selling. I tried to download the file and there seems to be an error. However, I assume this is obscene material based on your description. I am just bringing this to your attention now so that you can kindly delete your product.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

-Dan

When I got this email, I sent the following response:

I was told your company had stepped up as an alternative when Gumroad took gay porn down, and thus believed I would be able to sell my fiction on your site. Since this is apparently not the case I will be deleting my account.

Dan responded:

Thank you for obliging.

Sigh.

Those Who Funded A Guide to Sexual Harassment

Look. If your name is on this list and you contributed to this project, you should know that your actions perpetuate a culture that lets men think it’s ok to:

“Pull out your cock and put her hand on it. Remember, she is letting you do this because you have established yourself as a LEADER. Don’t ask for permission, GRAB HER HAND, and put it right on your dick.”

If you’re stupid enough to believe this, you also deserve to have your support of this publicized. You deserve to have to have the uncomfortable conversation with your mom, your sister, your wife, your girlfriend, your daughter on why you are supporting someone who thinks it’s ok to force a woman to touch your dick. I hope they see this and have that conversation with you because y’all apparently need to have it.

Note: I scrubbed the data for ONLY people at least a first initial, last name, and location. At LEAST 600 other supporters gave to a project that is supporting rape culture. That should be scary.

VERY BERRY FANFIC JAM!!! (June 21st - 23rd)

Fanfiction can be great and writing it can be a blast, but sometimes it can feel hard to start. Either you aren’t part of existing communities or you feel like you need an excuse. Well, here’s your excuse!

The Very Berry Fanfic Jam will be for anyone who wants to participate, but you’re especially encouraged to join in if you’ve never written fanfic before.

All forms are welcome and based on any properties!

You can write a fanfic about Megaman. You can make a game based on A Goofy Movie. You can draw a comic about Daft Punk. Whatever medium you’re most comfortable with. Whatever you want to write!

All we ask is that you add content warnings if you think your story might need them. Writing about 18+ or sensitive subject matter is completely welcome, but it’s important to make sure people know what they’re getting into when they read it.

Just submit it when it’s ready! You can tweet them @kim_delicious and @madamluna on Twitter or send them to http://maximummisandry.tumblr.com and http://electricopolis.tumblr.com. When we compile the list, we’ll make sure yours is there.

Is yours a little late being finished up? No problem! Just let us know!

To keep yourself up to date, and to make sure others can see what you’re working on, just use the #berryjam tag on Twitter and Tumblr. This is very much a community experience and everyone is welcome!

Last, but not least, have fun!
